Honoring Military Families Through Service and Community

Service is woven into the identity of the Tyler Steen Foundation.

Long before Tyler Steen reached the NFL, the values that shaped his life came from a deep family connection to military service, sacrifice, and leadership.

Those values continue to inspire the foundation’s mission today.

A Legacy of Courage

Tyler’s father served in the United States Marine Corps, continuing a family tradition rooted in service to others. The foundation is also inspired by the legacy of Tyler’s grandfather, Sgt. Rodney M. Davis, who posthumously received the Medal of Honor after sacrificing his life to save fellow Marines during the Vietnam War.

His courage and selflessness represent the very values the foundation hopes to pass on to the next generation:

  • Leadership
  • Discipline
  • Sacrifice
  • Teamwork
  • Service

These principles guide every program, clinic, outreach event, and mentorship opportunity.

Supporting Military Families Beyond Recognition

Military families often face unique challenges that many communities never fully see.

Frequent relocations, deployments, long periods of separation, and emotional stress can impact both parents and children. The Tyler Steen Foundation believes these families deserve more than recognition — they deserve support, opportunity, and community connection.

Through initiatives like Huddle for Heroes, the foundation works to create meaningful experiences for military youth and families through:

  • Football camps and clinics
  • Community outreach events
  • Mentorship opportunities
  • Leadership development experiences
  • Family-centered engagement activities

The goal is to make military families feel seen, valued, and supported.

Shared Values Between Sports and Service

Football and military service may seem like different worlds, but they share many of the same core values.

Success requires preparation, trust, accountability, resilience, and teamwork. Both environments teach individuals to work for something bigger than themselves.

That connection is one reason the foundation uses football as a platform to teach life lessons that extend far beyond athletics.

Building a Stronger Community Together

Communities grow stronger when people choose to serve others.

By supporting military families and investing in youth leadership, the Tyler Steen Foundation hopes to create a lasting impact that reaches beyond individual events. Every camp, volunteer effort, and partnership is part of a larger mission to strengthen communities through service and opportunity.

Because honoring service means more than remembering sacrifice.

It means continuing the work.
